Save your pennies for Rainy Day Jordan, our Miss December 2011. She’s tall – 5’9” – and all natural, with brown hair and a down-home Southern accent. Hailing from rural Abilene, West Texas, Rainy can ride a horse as well as she can ride a tractor – and as a Playmate, she’s in for her wildest ride yet. A third-year nursing student at a local college, Rainy had wanted to be a Playmate since she was a kid. “I found the April 1969 issue – the one with Vanessa Redgrave - and I just knew.” She tried out for Playboy at a casting call in Dallas, and two months later, she was called back for Special Editions. From there she had a shoot with Jarmo Pohjaniemi in Miami, and another with Stephen Wayda in Los Angeles – and on the basis of those recommendations, Hef approved her for the Centerfold. “I didn’t want to use Playboy as a stepping stone to a modeling career,” she says. “It was my dream and it came true. I still want to be a nurse and raise a family in Texas.”

“Being a Playmate has changed my life,” says Rainy. “I had never traveled outside of Texas, and now I’ve been to Florida, California and Nevada. And I get to host Playboy events – I did the Comedy Show at the Palms, and I’m doing New Year’s Eve with my new friend Jessa Hinton.” Rainy’s family is close and supportive of her career with Playboy. “When I found out, I called my parents in tears,” she says. “I took the year off to be Miss December, but I do plan to return to school. I want to work with Playboy as long as I can – on camera or behind the scenes.” For now, Rainy is along for the ride – she lives in Abilene with her boyfriend and their dogs, and she's close with her fellow Playmates. “People stop me in the street to ask me if I’m Miss December,” she says, laughing. “What can I say?”
